(Chapter 1) - THE BRUTAL MURDER OF GEORGE FLOYD

It was the evening of 25th May, 2020 in the city of Minneapolis, state of Minnesota USA. It was around 7:37 PM ET. A black guy named George Flyod, age 46, bought some cigarettes from a local store called "Cup Foods" after crossing the road from the opposite end, where he had parked his blue car. He paid a 20$ bill at the counter and got back into his car. Within no time, the staff at that store realized that the 20$ bill which this guy had given was fake. 3 of them came running through, from across the street and asked Flyod to give back the cigarettes as the bill was not real. Flyod denied either - to take back the 20$ bill & replace it with an original one or to give back the cigarettes. These 3 guys went running back to the store, from where the owner called the local police about this incident. Within no time, 2 officers from Minneapolis Police Department, Thomas Lane and J.Alexander Kueng, arrived in a police car. 

Looking at this incident, its obvious that Floyd had committed an offence but it was a mild one. He had presented a fake bill at a store, which he shouldn't have. It was an offence indeed, but it was not so big that this whole thing should blow completely out of proportions. 

As the 2 policemen arrived at the store, the owner gave them the details. Immediately they rushed to the place where Floyd had parked his car and was still there. One of them, Kueng approached to the right side of the car while the other Officer Lane, went to its left, at the driver's seat. Floyd was at the driver's seat. Two guys were seated in the front portion of the car. Kueng was the first to get to the car. 

In the video it is seen that he asks something to the guy seated on the right. While that conversation is going on, Officer Lane takes out his gun, hides it sort of and then asks something to the guy on the driver seat. In seconds, Kueng is seen rushing from the right side to the left side of the car. Lane and he get involved in pulling the guy at the driver seat, Floyd, out of the car. Floyd obviously looks embarrassed but does not seem to oppose this violently. He is quickly handcuffed with his hands behind his body. 

Then these 2 officers try to put him inside the police car but he refuses to go inside. He mentions that he is claustrophobic and going inside the police car won't help. In a very short time, two more police cars arrive at the spot. Officers Derek Chauvin and Tou Thao come out of the car and move towards the police car where two officers, Lane and Kueng are trying to put Floyd inside the police car that came first at the spot. The tussle continues for some time as Floyd keeps resisting arrest. Then Kueng suddenly manages to put Floyd inside the car from back left side of it. But then suddenly something happens and Chauvin pulls him out of the car from its back right side. All 4 of them then attack him by throwing him on the ground with his chest touching it. Immediately as this happens, Chauvin plants his left knee on his neck. Keung is seen putting his both knees on Floyd's back side, behind his chest. Meanwhile, Lane straightens his legs and applies pressure on them. Tou Thao is seen standing there, facing the public, arguing with them and forcing them away. 

Floyd finds himself in a deadlock kind of situation, lying with upside down. In the video it is seen that he starts pleading to let him go. Officer Chauvin, who is right up there on his body says, "Why don't you get inside the car?" He says, "I will". Yet, Chauvin does not leave him. Instead he tightens the grip on his body and is seen applying extremely heavy pressure on his neck now, with his left knee. Floyd starts shouting, "I CAN'T BREATHE MAN... PLEASE.... I CAN'T BREATHE... PLEASE..." Chauvin is unmoved at these cries for mercy. He maintains the pressure continuously. People start gathering around. A woman is seen coming forward and saying, "He got mace. He got mace...". A black guy at close quarters, shouts "He can't breathe.. man". The situation starts getting more and more desperate, more and more inhuman. 

Again Chauvin says something to Floyd and then without waiting for his answer, intensifies the pressure on his neck still further. At this point, the 6 foot giant strong man, cries desperately for help..."MAMA....I CAN'T BREATHE... I CAN'T BREATHE.... " He repeats those 3 words for 16 times in less than 5 minutes. Then suddenly he is seen motionless, with his mouth wide open and teeth coming out. Chauvin looks at him but still does not realize that the guy is either unconscious now or is dead. He still maintains the pressure! The people around tell him - "He isn't moving.. he isn't moving..." But Chauvin won't budge. 

Meanwhile someone has called for medical help saying that the black guy needed help and was bleeding from the mouth. Minutes later, an ambulance van arrives at the scene then. 2 men come forward to check what has happened. One of them and Chauvin are seen checking his pulse at his neck region. Floyd is still motionless. Around 15 people are watching this entire tragic episode from different parts of the road, 4 of them from very close quarters. The medical staff guys then decide to put Floyd's body into the van. Officers Chauvin and others help him do that. In the process, when the lift him from the ground, Floyd's neck tilts sideways and his hands fall down. There are clear signs that the man has perhaps died by now. Then, they put him inside the van. The 4 police officers get inside their own police cars and leave the spot. 

This entire incident gets caught in 2 different video cams - the first one is from a place nearby, while the other is shot by a 17 year old girl, Danielle. The video clip, filmed by this girl carries all the scenes that happened just before Floyd goes motionless. The words that the officers speak to Floyd, his replies and those words that the public speak out - all these are explicitly heard from this video clip. The extreme gravity of this heinous crime gets self-explained, while watching this horrific video.
